9Round Food Drive

I'm excited to announce 9Round Fitness of Brookfield will be doing a month long food drive for the whole month of March. 9Round has teamed up with the Hunger Task Force of Milwaukee for this event and where the food will be going at the end of the month. Our focus for this food drive is going to be healthy non-perishable breakfast foods and peanut butter. Breakfast is one of the most often skipped meals but is the most important meal to jump start your body for the day. The Hunger Task Force has been doing a peanut butter drive themselves for that last few weeks, so I wanted to have our drive help the cause they are currently focused on as well.  To make this fun, I have received some great prizes people can win by donating to our food drive as well. We have two awesome grand prizes including BREWERS TICKETS and a great spa day for a Mother/Daughter from Roots Salon and Spa here in Brookfield as well. Kick-A-Thon is back!!!

With October being National Breast Cancer Awareness month 9Round Brookfield wants to do it's part to help. October 16th we will be hosting this year's Kick-A-Thon for a Cure! We have a crazy workout planned that will for sure get you KICKING for Breast Cancer!!! Every kick done at the gym that day will count as 1 penny. At the end of the day, our total amount of kicks will be tallied up and that final number will be the total amount 9Round Brookfield will donate to one of the local Breast Cancer Foundations in the Brookfield, WI area.  Our goal is to have a TON of fun with this while participating in this great cause. During parts of the day, we will be motivated with music from DJ Goose, a 9Round Nation member himself! We are also partnering up with HOM Woodfire Grill and Bar. Mirror, mirror on the wall... who is the FITTEST of them all? Get ready for March Madness at 9Round, a fun six-week challenge that will reveal the fittest 9Round member across four gyms in Wisconsin! We hope that as you’re reading this, you find yourself off to a great start in 2014! But if for some reason you’ve been struggling with those resolutions or goals you set, DON’T GIVE UP ON THEM! Practicing proper form is not only essential for delivering your most efficient and powerful hits (which produce the greatest results), but it is also important for keeping the injury bug away. Here, we are going to focus on the execution of a proper side kick.      1. Stance - begin in your normal stance: your non-dominant side in front, knees slightly bent, hands up and elbows in 2. Chamber - while pivoting your supporting foot in the same direction as your body, bring the knee of your kicking leg up towards your chest and lean back for balance  3. Extension - extend your leg in a linear fashion toward the bag while flexing the abs; make contact with the heel  4. Recoil - after a quick strike on the bag, retract the foot back with control and balance 5.
