Your Focus Needs More Focus….

This week I want to change gears a little bit. If you happened to have seen my bio on the website you may have noticed that I originally joined the 9Round family as a member. Like many people, I had gotten pretty far out of shape and was looking for some way to shed a few of those unwanted pounds. I had tried the “typical” gyms in the past and just couldn't get in to working out.

When I was younger I was one of those fortunate people who didn't have to work out and could still stay thin and in pretty good condition. In fact, I don’t think I weighed over 150 lbs until I was about 22 years old. Then over night, it seemed like I was pushing 200 lbs. I knew that I had to do something. On a whim, I decided to try this 9Round thing. I completed my first workout with Shannon “the Cannon” and signed up on the spot. That was almost 5 years ago.

Over the years, I have had ups and downs. I have put some weight back on, and I have dropped it back off. I can’t say that it has always been easy. I can say that even in my lower times, I have not been back to my starting point. It is important to focus on the positives.

So as I look back at the journey I have tried to figure out when, and what has caused the ups and downs. Specifically, I have tried to figure out what the difference was and what I was doing during the times that I was where I wanted to be.

Finally! I figured it out….. Do you want to know the secret? It’s CONSISTENCY! I can very clearly trace my setbacks to the times when my workout frequency was lower, and when my nutrition habits were a little less than disciplined. Conversely, the times that I have been at my peak, are the times when my workouts are frequent and consistent, plus my eating habits are right in line with 9Round Nutrition.

I've learned that my successes or set backs are directly correlated to how consistent I am with making the right choices and staying focused on my goals. I would probably guess that many of you could make the same correlation. You may have heard that fitness is a journey, not a destination. You have to stay focused on your goals and keep putting in the work.

My 9Round workouts and nutrition program are an essential part of keeping on track and meeting my fitness goals. I am not only an employee of the company, but I am a product of the workout. I am currently in the best shape of my life and it is directly related to staying consistent and focused.

I can give you tons of workout tips and techniques to help you on your journey. But my #1 tip is stay CONSISTENT and stay FOCUSED!!
