About the team
Darien grew up on the South side of Chicago where he excelled in sports at an early age. He was deemed the 2nd fastest sprinter in Illinois in 2009 an...d received numerous accolades throughout the state of Illinois during high school. At Western Illinois University, he studied Biological Sciences with a double minor in Kinesiology and Chemistry. While at WIU, his passion and enthusiasm for fitness continued to grow as he competed on the Men's NCAA Division i Track & Field team as well as the football team. Darien is not only passionate about sports, but he is committed to helping others achieve their health and fitness goals. Darien is also a personal trainer, high school football coach, track & field coach. Darien's motto: "Trust the Process!" More

Gabe has been a boxer for about two years and it has changed his life. It has helped him develop a healthy lifestyle and achieve personal fitness goal...s. Assisting others in fighting towards their goals is what excites him to be a part of the 9Round West Loop team. Outside of the gym, he studies Acting at Columbia College and makes music on the side! More
Kat is a massage therapist with a background in kinesiology and fitness/nutrition. Kat's philosophy has always been: " If you don't take care of yours...elf, no one is going to do it for you". She is a firm believer that achieving good health and fitness requires an even stronger commitment to your body and mind. Kat's goal is to always provide you with a killer workout and push you just enough to hate her!:) More

There’s so much to love about 9Round. No class times makes it so much easier to get a workout in when it’s convenient for you. Even if you need 10-15 minutes of extra sleep in the morning, you’ll stil... l be able to get to class when you’re ready. A 30 minute workout is also a massive plus for me. I love going to 9Round before work, around 7:30 am, because I get extra attention and helpful hints from the trainers (who are all wonderful). Super supportive environment with coaches who will help you meet your goals whether its just getting to the gym once a week or strength training and weight loss. I hadn’t found a gym that worked with my schedule and provided a great workout in a short time period until I found 9round. The struggle for me was waiting around for a class time and then spending an... hour working out - this essentially would eat up all the free time I had left at night. I always felt I had to choose to do something fun or workout, but with 9round’s flexible schedule where each round of workout starts every 3.5min, I can attend a class without the stress of making a specific class time. The classes are only 30min too! The results I’ve seen are better than when I used to go to 1hr classes at other gyms. On top of all this, the owner and trainers are awesome and motivating! I really love that the workouts are 30 minutes, there are no class times, and the workouts change daily. The west loop location is always very clean and the trainers/owners are super nice and friendl... y. I enjoy the variety of the stations and have found that this has kept me consistently working out which I have never been able to do in the past.
