About the team
CC is one of the main reasons 9ROUND South Loop became a reality. He's a man of many talents...winner of the 2016 Chicago Golden Gloves amateur compet...ition in his age group and owner of Gordy's barbershop in Hyde Park. Before 9ROUND, he was a highly-regarded personal trainer with an emphasis on boxing and kickboxing ("his thing") and mentor/instructor at the CYC Chicago Youth Centers' after-school program teaching fitness, boxing and chess. Xavier has been an amateur boxer for six years and a 9ROUND trainer since 2018. He has a strong passion for fitness and the sport of boxing. He’s a r...espected boxing coach and was MVP of his high school football team. Kris is 9ROUND South Loop’s youngest trainer and an outstanding student who’s worked with top tier college basketball programs. including Xavier Unive...rsity’s men’s basketball team, Dos Equis 3X3U National Championship and soon, the Missouri Tigers men’s basketball team. Jack understands the science behind the 9ROUND system and is adept at communicating its form and function. Kayce is passionate about fitness, plant-based food and her career in nursing, healthcare management and teaching, She's a weekend trainer at 9R South... Loop and has been a member at 9R Wicker Park since 2017. She’ll be the first to tell you 9ROUND the only fitness program she’s ever stayed with for more than a few months. Her birthday gift to mom-MK in 2017 was 9ROUND gloves, wraps and passes. That gift, and the subsequent mom/daughter workouts, set things in motion for the opening of Chicago's 5th and newest 9ROUND location. More
Mary Kay has a background in corporate retail marketing. She moved to the South Loop in 2013 and in 2018 decided to start a business combining three o...f her favorite things…the neighborhood, small business and kickboxing. Her path to 9ROUND started as a birthday present from her Favorite Oldest Child (9R gear and workout passes) and led to the opening of 9ROUND’s 5th location in Chicago. More
Chase has been 'sporty' her entire life. Her fitness resume includes soccer, tennis and swimming. She completed her first 9ROUND session December 2018... at the Clearwater location in Indy and was hired as a trainer the following summer. 9ROUND South Loop enjoys the benefit of her training experience and her enthusiasm for the company. When she's not spending early mornings at the club, Chase is a student at Columbia College Chicago pursuing a degree in Musical Theatre. More

I really like how personal all the trainers are with everyone that goes here. It is a great motivator to see the same people every day and have them notice your progress. It gives a sense of accountab... ility and a desire to keep coming back, day after day. I also love that you don't have to schedule coming in, like you have to at other gyms. Its extremely convenient to just show up after work or if I feel like it on a day off, and not have to worry about having to schedule and get a slot in a class.I fully intend to keep going to 9round as long as I live in the area. The trainers are awesome and keep it real. They keep you in check too. I hurt my wrist outside of the gym and they adapted every workouts for me for 2 weeks till it recovered.
