We are a rocking gym in Columbia with a rewarding concept in fitness. It feel great to punch the heavy bags to the beat of the music as you work your way through our 9round circuit. Get in shape with "Old School" boxing techniques and training drills. You will also perform core body drills and build strength with various free weight exercises. Your motivation will stay high as you meet new challenges throughout the changing workouts everyday. Our 9round certified trainers will demonstrate all the correct moves and correct form. You do not need any boxing experience to join! Our gym vibe is community based, upbeat and supportive. I had my first workout the other day and I was truly impressed by the level of attention given by the trainer. 9Round Certified Trainers
Diana MirgonDiana grew up in York Pennsylvania and graduated from the University of North Carolina. She has an extensive athletic background that consists of 10 years of basketball experience, running collegiate cross country, countless road races, and even completing a few biathlons. She has worked at 9round for 2 years but when she is not working she enjoys spending time with her 3 kids and watching them in their sporting events. When it comes to fitness Diana's motto is "fitness has to become a necessity, like eating and sleeping, in order for it to be effective. "
Mills "The Machine " StoverMills is one of the earliest pioneers in 9round gyms! He bought one of the first 9round franchises that opened on Augusta Road in Greenville, SC and is also co-owner of a 9round gym off of Pelham Rd in Greenville, SC. as well as two locations in Columbia, SC. Mills grew up primarily in Greenville, SC but also spent time living in Ft. Lauderdale, Charleston, Aspen, and Los Angeles. He graduated from College of Charleston and has over 20 years of experience in fitness and martial arts based training. However, before opening up a 9Round location, he worked on the production of over 40 different television shows and 5 feature films. When it comes to fitness Mills believes "If you train the same, you stay the same".
Joe BrumbaughJoseph “Joe” Brumbaugh currently serves as a Personal Trainer for 9 Round Fitness. Joe joined the 9 Round Fitness staff in December of 2015 and previously had offered personal training to clients at several gyms throughout Columbia and surrounding areas. In addition to working as a certified personal trainer/coach, Joe currently attends the University of South Carolina College of Education and majors in Athletic Training. With an undergraduate degree in Experimental Psychology and a graduate degree in Counselor Education, Joe is highly qualified to assist clients of all ages in developing and implementing plans for healthy, active lifestyles. In addition to his academic background and experience, Joe joined 9 Round Fitness as a highly credentialed professional. He has certifications from the American Red Cross (CPR and AED); National Association of Sports Management (certified personal trainer); USA Weightlifting (Sports Performance Certification); NESTA (certified Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning Coach); and the American Counseling Association (National Certified Counselor). Joe’s interests, in addition to exercise, fitness, and nutrition, include soccer, martial arts, and family activities. He has traveled to Medellin, Colombia, South America to volunteer at the Christian Union Sports Club to assist at-risk youth and young adults in developing their soccer skills. Joe looks forward to helping you reach your fitness goals and living a healthy and positive lifestyle.
Kathleen MirgonKathleen was first introduced to 9Round by her mother, Diana Mirgon. Fitness, health and being active has been something she has always been very passionate about. She has been working out at 9Round for a little over two years now and really enjoyed the workout so much she joined the team here. She is a junior attending school at the University of South Carolina after transferring from playing lacrosse at Shippensburg University for her freshman and sophomore year.
