About the team
Brendan "Dad Bod" O'Meara has over 20 years experience in Martial Arts and has a big passion for health and fitness. He holds a 2nd degree Black Belt... in Taekwondo and is trained in Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Wushu, and Shotokan Karate. He currently enjoys training in MMA and Boxing. O'Meara studied Exercise Science and Psychology at Creighton University. He also works in the Entertainment industry as a stunt performer and as an actor. More
Monique "Mo" Flores started her kickboxing journey when she became a member at 9Round Culver City and fell in love with the workouts. She loved it so ...much that she eventually became one of our trainers. Mo has been playing sports her entire life but within the last couple of years she has been more passionate about her fitness journey and enjoys passing her knowledge onto to our members. She loves teaching our members new techniques and pushing them to their best fitness ability. More
Rickey “Black Panther” Powell is an L.A. native who has been boxing for the last 3 years and in that time became a member of 9Round. Soon after, he de...cided to join the team as a trainer where he is passionate about helping members achieve their goals. He’s currently studying Brazilian Capoeira and refining his boxing skills. Miranda "Boss Lady" Acevedo is the owner of 9Round Culver City. She is committed to providing a welcoming atmosphere to all athletic abilities. Whethe...r it is your first time stepping into kickboxing gym or a seasoned athlete, she and her team will push you to your best athletic abilities. Miranda played collegiate soccer at Rio Hondo College as a forward, where she was MVP and the leading scorer for the 1998 season. She then transferred to Cal Poly Pomona, where she was part of the 1999 Women's Soccer Team that went onto to be the NCAA DII National Runner-Up. She is now a certified ISSA fitness trainer. More

It's hard to choose just one thing because there are so many amazing things about this club. The first and foremost is the personalized attention and genuine care that Miranda and her staff provide ea... ch individual regardless of how busy they might be. I always feel attended to and as if I have my own personal trainer there to guide and encourage me! The next best thing is never having a class time to worry about and just being able to jump in basically right away. I also love the actual workouts and how they are changed up each day! The CHOWs are great motivators and help me feel really confident! I also love what a positive impact the 9round workouts have had on me mentally and physically. This has overall been an excellent resource for me and I brag about this gym to everyone I come into contact with. It’s a great workout, it takes 30 minutes, and you can go at any time (no set class times). The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I enjoy being able to start my workout whenever I come in, which makes it so much easier to get my workout in during the week when I'm busy with my normal work schedule. I especially love that each wo... rkout is different every time so I feel like I'm truly getting a full body workout and in only 30 minutes, which is obviously super convenient! I've been involved with team sports for many years of my life and in the last few years I've been working out on my own, so I'm really happy to be a part of 9Round, which provides a very rewarding environment that I can continuously progress and work towards a goal, whether it's my boxing form, balance, strength or cardio! The music is always great and uplifting, the trainers are very supportive and observant and are always there to help (and they somehow always remember everybody's name) - so it's a lot of fun! THE BEST WORKOUT PROGRAM EVER! They will work with you, you can go at your tempo and create a way to make it easier for yourself. I personally like it because they always make it challenging for me an... d makes me want to push harder for myself, they always make it a competitive but also fun. It is a good all around work out that runs about 40 minutes. The work out changes daily so you are working different muscles and body parts daily. You can stay also stay and do more rounds if you like... . The trainers are friendly and motivating. They are also great about modifying the workout to suit your level or if you have an injury. Because of my job, I have a hard time keeping a consistent schedule throughout the week. The lack of set class times at 9Round meant that I could make it work with my schedule every day!
