How do I get motivated?

bryan.abernathy@9round.com

As a 9Round Owner and trainer you might expect me to be a lean, mean, kickboxing machine.  Truth is I'm average just like most of you out there.  I was first a member at a 9R after making the decision to take control of my health and fitness.  I lost weight, pant sizes, and came off my blood pressure med.  I believed in 9R so much I purchased a franchise and now here I am 6 months into ownership.  I am still working on my fitness goals and I have the same struggles most of you probably have at times.  Sometimes I am just not motivated and feel as if I don't have the energy to work out.  Maybe its this feeling keeping you from trying 9Round for the first time.  So how does one overcome this?

A little story...Last week I was feeling sluggish, tired, and lacked the drive to workout.  I was in the gym trying to make myself wrap and get started.  So when my trainer Stephen called 30 seconds I just took off running out the back door and around the building.  Approximately a tenth of a mile.  The short sprint was just enough to really get my heart pumping.  So next 30 second call I ran another lap.  Man was I ready now!  I wrapped my hands and wrist and jumped on a open round.  (I love working out with my clients)  I think I started on speedbag and when Stephen called 30 seconds I went for another lap.  I decided to challenge myself to make a lap at the end of each round.  I completed my workout and with all laps combined had sprinted just over a mile.  I felt great, ready to get back on the floor and keep training clients.

So how does one go from being ready to take a late afternoon nap to running sprints in 90 degree heat and feeling happy about it?  Well the answer is more than I care to explain here.  I will post a link at the bottom of the page for a great and full explanation.  But simply put, exercise makes you happy through chemical reactions in the body.  So, if your sitting there thinking about losing weight and improving your health but decide to put it off until you have more energy, that could be a really long wait!  I challenge you to just give us 30 minutes.  That’s one 1/2 hour of couch potato TV watching.  Come into a 9Round...there is for sure one close to you.  I hope its Denver!  Complete 9 rounds of high intensity kickboxing training and you will see and feel the difference!  Here is the link I promised: http://blog.bufferapp.com/why-exercising-makes-us-happier

I wrote this blog because I know all too well how it feels to not want to get up and get moving.  Being lazy can be addictive but so can getting fit!  Come into 9Round today and take control of your health and fitness.  Your body will thank you and so will your family.  I'm sure they would be happy to keep you around a few extra years!  #GetIn #GetFit
