  • I don’t have to rush for a timed class. I can go anytime they’re open that fits my schedule. I’ve had back surgery and I have a sore knee sometimes and I can modify the movements for my level. My iron supply is very low and my doctor says I may have to have a blood transfusion soon. This means I get tired easily especially when exercising, so I can still exercise and rest when needed and get back in my workout in a minute or two. It’s the perfect place for everyone and all levels. I love that everyone is given a heart monitor and you can look at the screen to see how hard you’re working. I also like receiving a summary of my workout within an hour after class. It shows your heart rate levels and the calories you burned. Win, win and WIN!

  • This is the first time I've been able to keep up going to a gym longer than 3 mo. Kickboxing is such a stress reliever, and I love the fact that I can jump in any time I'm off work, whether that is 5:30 PM or 7:05 PM . Plus, the trainers are amazing and really personable.

About the team

  • Gina <span class="nick-name">"G-Shock the Rock"</span> Gerard
    Gina "G-Shock the Rock" Gerard
    Gina is the co-owner/operator of 9Round Traemoor Village, 9Round Ramsey Commons and R5 Fitness Systems. She is a Certified Personal Trainer, Fitness Coach, Physique and Fitness Training Specialist, and Sports Nutrionist. She holds several certifications including; International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), International Fitness Association (IFA), National Exercise and Sports Training Association (NESTA), Precision Nutrition/Exercise Nutrition and National Dance/Exercise Instructors Training Association (NDEITA). She is CPR, First Aid Certified as well. Gina studied Muay Thai in Thailand and trained with a boxing coach in West Palm Beach, FL. She has owned a dance/fitness center for many years and taught cardio kickboxing, spin and various functional fitness classes. Gina is passionate about fitness and dedicated to improving the lives of others by motivating members to achieve their goals.
  • Craig <span class="nick-name">"TNT"</span> Thompson
    Craig "TNT" Thompson
    Craig is the co-owner of R5 Fitness Systems, 9Round Ramsey Commons and 9Round Traemoor Village. He retired from the military after 20 years of service, with half his career in Special Operations. Since his retirement in 2007, Craig has served as a Senior Operational Advisor at the Asymmetric Warfare Group and as an Operations Integrator at the Joint IED Defeat Organization. Craig is well versed in leading, coaching, teaching and mentoring individuals and multi-disciplined teams. Craig has studied Boxing, Muay-Thai and is a Senior Blue Belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Craig believes defining long-term goals and functions to the client and providing an advisory link to nutritional assistance, will deliver desired results.
  • Gradtus <span class="nick-name">"Fist of Fury"</span> Sutton
    Gradtus "Fist of Fury" Sutton
    Gradtus is a 9Round certified trainer and manager of the Ramsey Commons location. For the past 10 years he has been a certified fitness and nutrition specialist. He is from Fayetteville, NC. Gradtus is experienced in multiple sports such as football, basketball, bodybuilding and Muay Thai. He believes any goal can be reached with proper planning, consistency, and opportunity. His favorite thing about 9Round is the diversity of its trainers; it's training and its members.
  • Melonie <span class="nick-name">"MELeficent"</span> Mercer
    Melonie "MELeficent" Mercer
    Melonie "MELeficent" Mercer Melonie is a 9round certified trainer. For the past 9 years, she has specialized in acrobatics, gymnastics, cheerleading and creative movement. Her eagerness and dedication has earned her several regional and national titles in cheerleading and gymnastics from high school through college. Melonie currently coaches tumbling. Our members love her energy and enthusiasm!
  • Samantha <span class="nick-name">"Cat"</span> Catlett
    Samantha "Cat" Catlett
    Cat is a 9Round certified trainer. She is originally from Northern Virginia & went to Shepherd University in West Virginia where she played NCAA soccer for four years. Cat received her personal training certification from American College of Sports Medicine (ASCM) and was a personal trainer for five years prior to 9Round. She is currently a full-time police officer in Fayetteville and has been a member of 9Round since December 2016. She went through a total body transformation as a 9Round member and lost over 40 pounds! Cat’s favorite thing about 9Round is that each work out is never the same!
  • Jencie <span class="nick-name">"The Jewel"</span> Landry
    Jencie "The Jewel" Landry
    Jencie (Jen) is a 9round certified trainer. She grew up in Fayetteville, NC playing several sports including softball and volleyball. Jen struggled with being overweight most of her life. As an adult she became interested in fitness and nutrition which resulted in a weight loss of 55lbs. Jen has experience in different fitness activities including weightlifting, yoga, and kickboxing. She loves being a 9round trainer. She keeps our members motivated and accountable!
