    Stella "Bella Bean" By Starlight
    Stella is the official Mascot at 9Round Matthews. She hangs out behind the counter waiting for someone to entice her with a tennis ball–she tried chasing medicine balls, but they just didn't do "it" for her. Stella knows how to read the crowd and is pretty much incognito unless she is invited out to say hello. You can count on Stella for a poodle kiss and a tail wag if you just call her name. She admittedly has a few favorite members–as soon as they walk through the door, she either peeks her head through the showcase window, nosing the boxing gloves aside for a better look, or she stands at the gate waiting to be petted. If you still have any energy left after your workout, Stella will be happy to take you on a walk around the hood!

    Katherine "Kat" Allender
    Katherine , "the Catalyst," Allender is the Owner/Operator of 9Round Matthews, and Stella, is the official Mascot. Kat, a certified fitness trainer, works with people from where they are to move them toward their fitness goals. Fitness is germane to inner strength & happiness. It is a lifelong commitment you make for you. I promise to make it the most exhilarating and rewarding journey of your life at 9Round Matthews–9 rounds at a time! Kat has an MA in Curriculum Development and an Elementary School Teaching Credential from San Diego State University and a BA in Journalism from Temple University, Philadelphia, PA.

    Courtney "CJ" Robinson
    CJ’s passion for health and fitness arose from her extensive background in competitive dance. She studied Kinesiology at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. CJ is working toward a certified personal trainer through the International Fitness Professionals Association. CJ’s zest for life and infectious positive attitude is guaranteed to motivate and inspire you to not only reach your fitness goals, but to surpass them as well. Ask her if it will be easy and she’ll give you an emphatic, “NO WAY! Then ask her If it’s worth it. Without hesitation, she’ll respond, “ ABSOLUTELY.”

  • Just in the neighborhood and was looking in the window at 9round when Brian welcomed me in and next thing I know I had a great Saturday morning workout! I have never punched or kicked anything in my life but I was totally comfortable in this studio.

  • I've tried other workouts before and could never stay with them more than a few weeks. I started at 9 round Mattews in Nov 2015 and after 6 months, I am even mnore motivated than when I started.   • I had knee surgery and am back to workout at 9Round. My doctor gave me exercises to help with my rehab and I was doing them today after my awesome workout. Kat came over and asked what I was doing so I showed her the different exercises. Kat told me how I could make the exercise more effective by doing something she learned from dancers about how they use their core for balance and with just that little tweak, I could tell the difference and realized what it means to use my core.

  • I never thought I would be one to write a testimonial for something but 9Rounds Matthews deserves it! I heard about it from a girl friend and when I saw her results I had to try it out. To tell the truth, I was intimidated and it took a few weeks to get the up the nerve to go in for my free workout but I quickly realized that everyone was so friendly and no one was judging me! I am now addicted and I tell everyone about the full body 30 minute workouts. I am strengthing my core and I am now able to do regular push-ups!!! Even while playing college softball, I never had the upper body strength to do a regular push-up or pull-up. My New Year resolution is to be healthy in all aspects of my life and 9Rounds is a huge part of that. I recommend everyone to try it out...you might become addicted too!
