She grew up in Martinsville, Virginia, where she took her first ballet class. From that moment on, she pursued the art of movement and fitness in a variety of ways throughout her career in dance on stage, film, and television, always maintaining a job at a gym to compliment her performance schedule. She has found that her true passion is helping people work through their personal obstacles in order to reach their health and fitness goals. Her unorthodox motivational style is where toughness meets softness. It's an understanding of how to push people to their limits and beyond.
