I usually don’t like working out in public gyms because I don’t like people watching me. At 9 Round I’m constantly surrounded by people, sometimes at the same station, and I never feel uncomfortable, ... and I’m definitely not a good boxer. Everyone is just there, focused, trying to be a better version of themselves, and they are way to busy to care what you are doing. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had being bad at something (boxing), but I can see myself improving everyday just because of how relaxed and off guard I feel during my workout. I love that it’s a community. Unlike other gyms, you’re always surrounded by encouragement from the trainers and other members. The staff at Abbott Road has taken the time to get to know me outside of... just the workouts. They frequently ask about my job and my day.
