  • I can never get as good of a work out on my own! I get out some aggression and I have a lot of fun. The staff is always super friendly and the owners are amazing! You've got to try it to understand!

    Shaun "The Bohemian Shamrock" Berner
    Shaun, along with his wife, Tina, is the owner of 9Round in East Haven, North Branford, Old Saybrook, and Wallingford CT. He is a Muay Thai kickboxing black belt, is skilled in Combat Sambo and is a 9Round Certified Trainer. Shaun fell in love with the 9Round concept about 5 minutes into his first workout at the corporate gym and has never looked back! He loves designing new, challenging workouts to ensure that members get a great workout each and every time.

    Tina "Tough Love" Valaouras
    Tina, with her husband, Shaun, is the owner of 9Round in East Haven, North Branford Old Saybrook and Wallingford, CT. She is a Muay Thai kickboxer, 9Round Certified Trainer and NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Tina’s love of fitness goes back many years, and she is ecstatic about being able to help all her members reach their fitness goals. Above all, Tina puts her family first, and this attitude flows over to the gym where it truly feels like you are part of a wonderful 9Round family.

    Megan "The Machine" Beavis
    Megan has a Bachelor's Degree in Sport, Arts and Entertainment Management from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. She has been dancing since the age of three and continued to pursue her professional career in the dance and entertainment industry on both the East and West Coast. Megan started as a 9Round member in August of 2012 and quickly became hooked! She became a 9Round Certified Trainer in December of 2012. She took a little hiatus from training to pursue a career in New York City, but she is back and ready to give you a challenging and rewarding workout! Megan has always been involved with sports, fitness and being active. She is very passionate about helping others and will be with you every step of the way to reach your fitness goals!

    Sarah started as a member of 9Round in October 2013 and quickly fell in love with the workout. She became a 9Round Certified Trainer in May 2014 and enjoys pushing each member to their full potential each and every workout. Sarah has always had a passion for health and fitness and is planning to advance her interest in personal training. Once you go through a workout with "Psycho Sarah," you'll understand why her fighter name is Psycho!

    Lea is currently studying nutrition at Southern Connecticut State University. She has always had a passion for fitness which brought her into 9Round. Lea became a 9Round Certified Trainer in the summer of 2015 and loves pushing our members every workout. She workouts five times a week at 9Round and is still her peppy self!
