  • I liked that I can drop in at anytime and begin my workout. It's still in line with group fitness, as there are different stations already set up, so I don't have to come up with my own routine, yet I don't have to wait for a particular start time. Also, I like that the workout is complete in 30 minutes, yet it is difficult enough to get my heart rate up. If I want to workout longer, I can just go around again.

  • I love the short (30-40 mins), but intense, trainer-supervised workouts! What’s even more appealing is that there are no scheduled class times - come and go as you please without making reservations or crossing fingers to make it off the waitlist!

  • How fast it is to get in and out. That it’s different everyday. The trainers are friendly and helpful. I have never in my life found an exercise program I enjoy. I dread even the thought of exercising. But not here. It is so much fun, and can adapt to any fitness level and will still be challenging. I was at a good weight, but in horrible shape when I started. I feel myself getting stronger every week, but the workout never gets any easier, because the trainers know me and what I CAN do, not what my lazy bum wants to do. Love this place.

About the team

  • 9Round trainer
    Sommer "Sommer Lovin'" Walters
    HEAD TRAINER - Sommer became a 9Round member in the Winter of 2016. Six months later she was approached by management offering her a job as a trainer, which she gladly accepted! Sommer loved how the workouts always kept her challenged and motivated; inspiring her each time to bring her best and work hard. She liked the community support - how the members cheered each other on to reach their fitness goals, and how new members were immediately part of the 9Round family. Sommer lives in Robbinsdale and graduated from Champlin Park High School in 2011. She went on to earn her B.A. in Dance, with a minor in Cultural Studies from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Her professional goal is to work at a job that is fulfilling and brings her joy. She is an aspiring actress who would someday like to be on Broadway, but doing commercial dancing or being cast in an LA film would work, too. ;)

    Shannon "Shenanigans" Olson
    MANAGER - Shannon has over 10 years in Martial Arts experience and has a huge passion for health and fitness. She currently holds a 3rd Degree Black Belt and is training for her 4th Degree in Karate. She is a Semi-Pro Point Fighter and is working to go professional in the next few years. She will be attaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management from University of Concordia, St. Paul MN in Summer 2019. She loves teaching our members new techniques and pushing them to their best fitness ability.

    Alyssa Brueggen
    I’m Alyssa Brueggen! I’m currently a junior at Osseo Senior High School. In my free time I love to workout and spend time with friends. I started kickboxing at 9 Round in September of 2017 and I love it! My favorite thing about 9 Round is meeting new people and doing what I love every day I’m here!

    Micah Osband
    Micah has been a passionate educator competitive fighting for about 5 years and has been training for twice as long. His background includes boxing, kickboxing (first degree black belt from WPKA), Kuk Sul ( Korean martial art), but he is most passionate about muay thai (thai boxing). He has multiple degree including a Master’s and is currently working on his NASM certification.
