Strength: Stations 1-2

You'll use dumb bells, kettle bells, medicine balls, jump ropes and other equipment to build strength and stamina. Our trainers help you at every station.

Kickbox Fitness: Stations 3-8

The real fun begins as you punch and kick heavy bags to build power, double end bags to increase coordination and timing, and speed bags to develop shoulder conditioning and speed.

Abs & Core: Station 9

  • Having been a kickboxing trainer at a different gym, I can tell you that the workout you get at 9Round is exceptional. It's a total body workout-- there are different exercises each day so that all muscles are targeted at some point during the week and the workout does not get boring. I think the best part though, is the fact that there are no set class times. You walk in at a convenient time for you, sweat like a dog for 30 minutes, and you're done! Overall, I say the total time commitment is about 45 minutes (getting your hands wrapped and unwrapped and then maybe stretching.) The trainers are excellent- they've helped me worked through injuries by modifying exercises. They are motivational and just plain nice. I can't recommend 9Round enough- you really should give it a try.

  • Had my first workout at 9Round today and although I'm so out of shape, I was completely gassed. I left with a feeling of accomplishment that I didn't die. Lol. I ended up joining before I left and see many more workouts in my future. It's so nice to have a structured workout and not walk in a regular gym with a dazed and confused look and a lack of motivation, I can always squeeze in 30 minutes......

    Sherie "Bomb" Flores
    Sherie has a lifelong passion for fitness. As a mother of two and business owner she understands the challenges in finding time for exercise. She is ready to motivate you to achieve more than you expect of yourself. The most rewarding part of owning 9Round is seeing the fitness and confidence improvements of her members. Sherie is an Army veteran and has completed a 1/2 Ironman triathlon and two marathons. She is also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer.

    Ross "The Boss" Flores
    Ross is the co owner of 9Round Charlottesville. As a retired Army Officer with multiple combat tours he understands the importance of physical fitness. 9Round helps him fuel his devotion to service by helping others in the community reach and surpass their fitness goals. When he is not bringing his own flavor of military style physical fitness to 9Round he enjoys spending time with his two school-aged children, sports, being outdoors fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping. By the grace of God, Ross is excited about building the 9Round family in Charlottesville and getting you fit 9 rounds at a time!

    Rachel "Renny"
    Rachel "RENNY" is a 2014 graduate of Mary Baldwin College where she earned her license to teach secondary education. Rachel will take her experiences from the classroom to the Charlottesville 9Round Gym to help teach you about how the 9Round experience can change your life! She is grateful for having found 9Round to mix her passion for fitness and joy of teaching together as a trainer. "Renny" is Irish Gaelic for "small but powerful" and standing at 5 foot is exactly what Rachel strives to be. She loves to push herself physically and is looking forward to challenge and motivate you in reaching your own goals! Renny recently completed the 2015 Disneyworld Glass Slipper Challenge, a 10K and Half-Marathon in 2 days (her first half marathon ever!). Rachel is enthusiastic about her future with 9Round in the health and fitness industry.

    Heidi "Coach"
    Heidi "Coach" is a former All-American basketball player at Elizabethtown College where she holds several individual and season records, scoring over 1,500 points during her career. Heidi was recognized for her athletic accomplishments and was inducted into the Blue Jay Hall of Fame in 2010. Following a stellar college basketball career, she pursued her passion for coaching as an assistant coach at Elizabethtown College and Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania, and then as a head coach at both St. Mary’s of the Woods in Indiana and Alfred University in New York. She is excited to bring her knowledge, motivating style, passion, and coaching experience to 9Round!

    Kadlin "Raven"
    Kadlin “Raven” is a recent college graduate with a degree in Psychology. Raven loves to run and has completed multiple races and marathons as well as her first Tough Mudder with more in her future. She has played soccer for over 16 years and coached local youth teams for 3 years. She started out as a 9Round member and quickly became addicted to the workouts and family like atmosphere at 9Round, prompting her to take an interest in becoming a trainer. Since joining 9Round she has taken a liking to the sport of kickboxing and has joined an amateur female boxing league. Raven is thrilled about her future with 9Round and delighted to be a trainer!

    Annie was a former standout field hockey goalkeeper for Penn State University. She then joined the Division I coaching ranks, coaching at Bucknell University, Penn State University, and the University of Virginia for the past 12 years. Annie is currently the Co-Director of Panthers United Field Hockey Club and the US U19 National Team Assistant Coach. Annie brings her enthusiastic personality and her love of coaching to 9Round to push you to be your best!
