What is 9Round?
9Round is a specialized fitness center for people who want an unique, fun, and proven workout that guarantees results. 9Round offers a kickboxing themed fitness program that incorporates a functional, interval, cardiovascular, and circuit training regimens. The programs consist of a proprietary system of nine challenging workout stations developed by a World Champion Kickboxer.
Strength: Stations 1-2
Kickbox Fitness: Stations 3-8
Abs & Core: Station 9
Here’s what you can expect:
- Show up at your convenience; there are no class times

How It Works
- You wear your 9ROUND PULSE™ belt during your workout.
- As you work out, the device tracks how hard you’re working and displays your effort rating, your heart rate and calories burned on a monitor inside the 9Round club.
- You can easily see if you’re in your optimal fat burning zone and adjust your effort up or down as needed.
- View your results and progress any time from the app or your online account. Your results are also emailed to you after each workout.

The more physically fit you are, the more effort it takes to get your heart rate up. But all you have to do is keep your heart rate in the optimal heart rate zone, and you’ll continue to get results.
Your real-time heart rate and color-coded heart rate zones continuously show you whether you’re getting the most from your workout. Your results summary is emailed to you after each workout.

9Round Certified Trainers
Tina "Tough Love" ValaourasTina, with her husband, Shaun, is the owner of 9Round in North Branford and Wallingford, CT. She is a Muay Thai kickboxer, 9Round Certified Trainer and NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Tina’s love of fitness goes back many years, and she is ecstatic about being able to help all her members reach their fitness goals. Above all, Tina puts her family first, and this attitude flows over to the gym where it truly feels like you are part of a wonderful 9Round family.
Shaun "The Bohemian Shamrock " BernerShaun, along with his wife, Tina, is the owner of 9Round in North Branford and Wallingford, CT. He is a Muay Thai kickboxing black belt, is skilled in Combat Sambo and is a 9Round Certified Trainer. Shaun fell in love with the 9Round concept about 5 minutes into his first workout at the corporate gym and has never looked back! He loves designing new, challenging workouts to ensure that members get a great workout each and every time.
Amanda "The Maniac" HaescheAmanda joined 9Round in February of 2013 and became a 9Round Certified Trainer in in April of 2014. She has an Associate of Science degree in Hospitality Management from Lincoln College of New England. Amanda loves pushing our members to be the best version of themselves that they can be!
Paige "The Punisher" OnofrioPaige has a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management. She has played basketball and softball all throughout her high school career and has always had a passion for working out. She is extremely passionate about diet and nutrition as well. Paige became a trainer at 9 Round in March 2013 and took a little hiatus to finish out her Bachelor's degree. Paige is excited to be back and push our members to achieve their fitness goals!
Megan "The Machine" BeavisMegan has a Bachelor's Degree in Sport, Arts and Entertainment Management from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA. She has been dancing since the age of three and continued to pursue her professional career in the dance and entertainment industry on both the East and West Coast. Megan started as a 9Round member in August of 2012 and quickly became hooked! She became a 9Round Certified Trainer in December of 2012. She took a little hiatus from training to pursue a career in New York City, but she is back and ready to give you a challenging and rewarding workout! Megan has always been involved with sports, fitness and being active. She is very passionate about helping others and will be with you every step of the way to reach your fitness goals!
Sarah "Psycho" WhitmoreSarah started as a member of 9Round in October 2013 and quickly fell in love with the workout. She became a 9Round Certified Trainer in May 2014 and enjoys pushing each member to their full potential each and every workout. Sarah has always had a passion for health and fitness and is planning to advance her interest in personal training. She is currently a student at gateway community college. Once you go through a workout with "Psycho Sarah," you'll understand why her fighter name is Psycho!
I signed up in Wallingford right before New Years..I'm not going to lie it was extremely hard for me. I remember questioning how people could find the energy to come every day! I started with 1-2 times a week and now 3 months later I'm proud to say I'm coming 5-6 times a week..and I absolutely love it! 9R is an awesome place, the trainers are amazing Bri, Sarah and Brendan..without them I wouldn't have come this far..I'm so much stronger and more confident and can't wait to see what this year brings ... #noexcuses #9roundstrong
I can never get as good of a work out on my own! I get out some aggression and I have a lot of fun. The staff is always super friendly and the owners are amazing! You've got to try it to understand!
I've been working up the courage to go into 9round and check it out but I was always nervous. I finally went in there and did my first free work out and immediately signed up right after. Its so much fun and it's only 30 minutes. I feel so good when I'm finished with my work out. it's safe to say I've become obsessed with 9round. The trainers/staff are fantastic. They're super friendly and are constantly cheering you on to motivate you. I'm so glad that I signed up and I can't wait to see where my fitness journey takes me with 9round. I highly recommend it to everyone!

Best gym in the area by far. Awesome full body workout that never gets old. Great trainers that motivate and push you to achieve more. If you haven't tried it, you should. Just prepared to get addicted.
