  • About 2 months ago I made the decision to join 9Round Gastonia, and, as cliché as it sounds, it has truly changed my life. Before joining I didn't feel very good about my body or my health. I was tired, weak, and felt completely out of shape - and still wearing maternity clothes a year after my last child was born. I barely had the stamina to make it through the day and I complained of aches and pains almost every night. And then a friend told me about 9Round and I can honestly say that it's the best thing I've done for my health in a long, long time. I never rave about workouts and I have always hated the "gym" but I absolutely LOVE 9Round. To the point that I literally crave my workouts and am disappointed if I miss a day. The trainers there are so encouraging and there isn't a day that I walk in the door that I'm not greeted with a huge smile and a positive attitude. I feel so welcome and comfortable there, and even though I'm no "athlete," they make me feel really proud of what I accomplish every time I go in. Plus, since beginning this routine my energy levels have skyrocketed, my chronic lower back pain has practically disappeared, I'm sleeping better at night, and my stress levels are so much more manageable than ever before. And on top of it all, I feel strong for the first time in years and it's so empowering. So, anyway, If you are thinking about starting a fitness routine, go there and try it for free and see if it's a good fit. You really won't be disappointed. I've never really worked out or gone to a gym in my life, but the trainers are great at explaining what I'm doing, helping me learn, keeping me motivated and keeping me going. My legs and arms have never burned so good! I love 9round!

  • I love working out here. The music is great, and the workout is quick but it works!

  • I have tried gyms, group excercise classes, running, at home workout dvds and this is by far my favorite workout! Im a working mom with very little time to spend at a gym. This gets the job done in 1/3 the time I would spend at the gym. It really does make a difference to have a trainer keeping you on track and motivated.     Julie "Dynamite" Spitzer
    Julie's passion for fitness began in her mid-twenties when she got up off the couch and began to run. With hundreds of running races under her belt, she added swimming, cycling and strength training to her routine. As a runner, triathlete and fitness instructor, she was quickly sold on the 9Round system, saying "It's just hard to beat the energy and effectiveness of this 30-min workout. She and her husband, Mike were eager for a new challenge and there was no doubt that 9Round ownership was the perfect fit for them.

    Karen "Killer Karen" Davis
    Karen is a lifelong fitness enthusiast who began running and swimming competitively at a young age. It was after Karen added weight training to her running routine and participated in Spartan Races that she threw herself wholeheartedly into training. Her passion for fitness led her to group fitness and then onto becoming a certified kickboxing instructor. 9Round is the ideal place for Karen to share her kickboxing, overall fitness, and nutrition knowledge. Karen is a firm believer that fitness should be FUN! She is eager to motivate and encourage each and every member to achieve/surpass their fitness goals.

    Adam "Bomb" Ferguson
    Adam has been playing sports since a young age. His highest sports achievements come from football. He received 2 defensive MVP awards, 3 all-region naming’s, and the Gatorade’s defensive player of the year award. Adam followed his life’s passion for fitness by seeking a dream job of personal training. He has gained several certifications including: the National Academy of Sports Medicine personal training and supplements and group fitness. Adam has built a reputation as a trainer who loves to work with clients of varing age and fitness levels. Adam brings his experience, knowledge, and motivating energy to 9Round each and every day.

    Jonathan "Superman" Williams
    Jon, a fitness enthusiast has always been an avid boxing fan. Throughout high school and college, you could find him in the gym working out. In his spare time, Jon studies boxing training techniques following the lead of “Rocky” and “Superman”. So it is no surprise that when he found 9Round he was in love. As a long-time member turned trainer, Jon brings his fitness and boxing passion to the gym to help members achieve their fitness goals.

    Ricky "The Sniper" Rainey
    Ricky Rainey began martial arts at the age of 9 learning Tae Kwon do. He became a professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter in 2010. He is now fighting for Bellator with a current record of 11 wins, 4 loses. Seven of those victories were by way of knockout. After doing his first workout at 9Round, he said “Now that’s the real deal.” Ricky was surprised that we could pack so much into one 30-minute workout. He is eager to work with members fine-tuning form and technique to help maximize their workout. Watch out for “The Sniper”!
