  • I love 9ROUNDS because it works for me . I was a member and lost 20lbs and felt great . I felt like I was in the best shape I had ever been in my life . Then I had to have shoulder surgery and had to stop going , so of course I gained about 10lbs back and just felt like crap . No energy and just lazy ! Then I decided I needed to start back at 9ROUNDS, I’ve been back 4 months and feel absolutely amazing again. I’m down 8lbs and I’m toning up again and just feel great . People are noticing a difference and my clothes are fitting much better

  • I like how it's 30 minutes of high intensity full body workout. The workout is structured so there is no thinking about what I need to do which is why I didn't like the normal gym since I didn't have the motivation to come up with a routine there. Also, the trainers are there to motivate you and when they interact with you during the workout makes it even better and more motivating.

    Sheila "SHOWTIME" Garvy
    Sheila, shown here with Shannon"The Cannon" Hudson, CEO and founder of 9Round, is the owner of 9Round Middletown and operator. She is a Certified Personal Trainer, Certified 9Round Trainer, Cardio Kickboxing Instructor and Biggest Loser Fit Pro. Her passion for fitness comes from having a congenital heart defect and enduring open heart surgery twice. She has helped hundreds of people meet their fitness goals! She uses her fitness skills and knowledge to help charities raise money.Sheila, She also holds an MBA and is a CPA. She loves the idea of a 30 minute, no class time, full body, trainer led workout. Her enthusiasm and passion will get Connecticut fit 9 rounds at a time!!

    Mark is a Certified NASM Personal Trainer, 9Round Trainer, USA Boxing Coach, and Black Belt in Tang Soo Do. Mark is also a Retired Law Enforcement Officer and Served as a Technical Sargent in the US Air Force. Mark loves the 9Round concept, thinks its an effective, efficient, fun workout and loves to "push the tempo". Mark lives in the area with his two children!!

    Tracey "Fitzy" Fitzgerald
    9Round Certified Trainer Tracey "Fitzy" Fitzgerald has been with 9Round Middletown since opening Day February 6, 2014. She started as a member but loved it so much she quickly became a trainer. She has a passion for fitness and overall wellness. She has always been active from playing high school soccer, tp playing on a woman's softball league to running 5k's. Her favorite part of 9Round is pushing members to do "one more". Her love of helping others see their potential and challenging themselves to be better and stronger is always growing. Tracey has a Bachelors degree from Southern, is married with a son and two step daughters.

    9Round Middletown Manager Robin "Rockin" Reynolds or 'The Motivator" has been a Certified Personal Trainer - forever and a day! Robins favorite round is 5, the Wrecking Ball and her favorite 30 second drill is "Air Guitar Squat". Robin is also a Biggest Loser Fit Pro and a 9Round Certified Trainer and is passionate about changing peoples lives. Robin says "Just do it , to make it happen" Robin is married with 3 boys and lives in Middletown.

    Ernesto ""The Ironman"" Garcia
    I originally got into MMA in middle school for self defense, and eventually started competing in high school. Boxing became a passion of mine right around the time I enlisted into the Army after high school. I'm currently training to compete in the Golden Gloves. One of my idols would be Conor McGregor, who did a similar transition from MMA to boxing. "I'm not here to take part, I'm here to take over!" I've been enlisted with the Army for over 6 years as a combat engineer and MP (military police). I'm also a combatives instructor at my unit. As for hobbies, I love playing tennis, hiking, and writing poetry. One of my favorite motivational quotes is from Eric Thomas, "When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you'll be successful." I love being able to bring all my drive, motivation, passion and energy into 9Round!

    Matt "The Maniac" is our Saturday morning energetic and enthusiastic Pad - Man. Matt was a 9Round member before becoming a trainer. He loves pushing people to be their best!! Matt is a black belt and loves to hike, bike, snowboard and do "just about anything crazy that you can almost hurt yourself." During the day Matt is an IT engineer at LEGO. Matt is married with 4 dogs and lives a stones throw away from the club!!
