What is 9Round?

9Round is a specialized fitness center for people who want an unique, fun, and proven workout that guarantees results. 9Round offers a kickboxing themed fitness program that incorporates a functional, interval, cardiovascular, and circuit training regimens. The programs consist of a proprietary system of nine challenging workout stations developed by a World Champion Kickboxer.

Strength: Stations 1-2

You'll use dumb bells, kettle bells, medicine balls, jump ropes and other equipment to build strength and stamina. Our trainers help you at every station.

Kickbox Fitness: Stations 3-8

The real fun begins as you punch and kick heavy bags to build power, double end bags to increase coordination and timing, and speed bags to develop shoulder conditioning and speed.

Abs & Core: Station 9

You’ll tighten and strengthen all the muscles in one of the most common trouble spots, your core, which improves your ability to perform any movement you do for work, exercise, or leisure.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Show up at your convenience; there are no class times

How It Works

  • You wear your 9ROUND PULSE belt during your workout.
  • As you work out, the device tracks how hard you’re working and displays your effort rating, your heart rate and calories burned on a monitor inside the 9Round club.
  • You can easily see if you’re in your optimal fat burning zone and adjust your effort up or down as needed.
  • View your results and progress any time from the app or your online account. Your results are also emailed to you after each workout.

    Justin "Sledge " Hammerstrom - Director of Franchise Training
    After many years in the fine dining industry, Justin made a needed change and took over a financially floundering high school cafeteria; turning the menu around to healthy choices while simultaneously making it very profitable. While at the high school, Justin coached wrestling for over 15 years and held a professional MMA title in the Welterweight division. Justin is the Director of Franchise training at the corporate office, which includes training new franchise owners and providing support to franchisees across the world.

    Kevin "Maniac" McKittrick - General Manager
    Kevin McKittrick is a recent graduate of Lander University, where he studied Exercise Science. His passion for health and exercise stemmed from playing competitive sports as a kid. He played many different sports up until the high school level. Seeing how exercise can gain the competitive edge is what sparked his passion for it. He looks forward to applying his knowledge of training to guide all the new and existing members at 9Round through an exciting workout each and every time!

    Kristi "The Commander" Gilbert
    Kristie, having been a stay-home mom for the last 5 years and in sales for the 10 years before that, was not looking for a new career. She was simply looking for a new workout. Fitness has been an important part of her life since her days as a student at Clemson University where she earned a BS in Management and a Masters in Business Administration. As a runner who has competed in many races, including 2 half marathons, Kristie was tired of her normal routine of running and working out in a “regular gym”. So she decided to give 9Round a try. She has been hooked ever since! Now, Kristie is excited to be a trainer who gets to share her love for the fun and fast paced workout that is 9Round with others who want to stay fit and have fun doing it!

    My name is Archie but most people call me Balong. I am from the Philippines where I studied nursing. I am currently a graduate student at Gardner Webb University. I love playing sports, especially basketball. When I’m not at work, I’m studying, camping, hiking, fishing, running or watching sports. I began working out at 9Round earlier this year and felt like it was a perfect fit for me. I am looking forward to helping members with their fitness goals, 9Rounds at a time.

    Jovetta is a long time runner, enjoying races from 5ks to marathons. Originally from Michigan, Jovetta graduated from University of South Carolina with a degree in special education.     Heather "BAD@$$" Barwick
    Heather was a multi-sport athlete throughout school, having played basketball, softball, and volleyball. During her years of playing sports, she has been awarded MVP titles and Athlete of the year. She played Roller Derby with Greenville Derby Dames for 2 years where her team ended with a winning season. Heather is also an avid outdoors person. She enjoys Kayaking, hiking, and camping. She became a member of 9Round around a year ago and was down "right hooked"! She enjoyed the workout and stress relief so much that she decided to become a trainer there to help others achieve their fitness goals!

    Emily has always been active and played several sports in high school and college. After having knee surgery, she gained weight and stopped playing sports. She tried going to the gym, but found that creating workouts for her was challenging and unsuccessful. She discovered 9rounds and immediately loved the structure of the workouts and the accountability she felt while working out with a trainer. After losing weight and toning up, she decided to become a part of the 9round team to help others meet their fitness goals as well. As a teacher, she loves instructing others and being a part of the community of the gym. The high energy workouts and quick pace fit into her life perfectly.   • I've have been a 9Round member for almost a year and a half now. I have tried lots of gyms and workouts over the years and nothing beats 9Round! I've lost two inches off my waist and leaned out. As I turn 50 I am in the best shape of my life. This workout truly delivers results if you stay commited to it.
