  • When I decided to give 9Round a try 8 weeks ago, I was positive I was just throwing money away and that it would never work. I’ve tried all sorts of diets, gyms and even bought tons of equipment to have at home in hopes that I could get somewhat healthy. I lost the drive and motivation a long time ago and had settled for being overweight. Day in and day out I would pick up fast food on my way home and then just sit on the couch all night. I had excuses for everything. But when I noticed that my 4 year old son was picking up on my habits, I knew I had to at least try to change. The first couple of weeks I didn’t really see a difference, but I kept putting in the work. I didn’t see the weight coming off or my clothes feeling different, but I could see my energy levels changing and what I could do in the gym was improving. Then I listened and looked into the nutrition stuff and the meals online. It hasn’t been very easy, but I’ve kept at it. Fast forward to today, I’m eating kind of better and spending 30-45 minutes 5 days a week in the gym and having fun. I can go out and play with my son at a park for hours (not just the 10-15 minutes or sitting on the bench watching him). I’ve lost 10.5 lbs and dropped a size in clothes in just 8 weeks. That’s huge for me. I’m grateful because 9Round proved me wrong. Everyone is amazing at what they do and genuinely care about people. That makes all the difference.

  • I love 9Round! I have nothing but the utmost respect and praise for this specific gym. As someone who has been looking for a routine that works for me I’ve tried a lot of different classes: Hot Yoga, Zumba, Body Pump, and Cycling. I enjoyed each of them, but none of them ever really excited me. I had wanted to join a boxing or kickboxing gym for a long time, but was nervous about my lack of coordination, skill, and my grotesquely out of shape stamina. As soon as I entered, I was greeted by the ever enthusiastic trainer. She quickly assured me that I had come to the right place, and that I would fit right in. As I progressed through the rounds, I was amazed at all the things happening around me. The regulars were kind and encouraging of me and each other. There was a familial banter between the trainer and the members. And when the going got impossible, revisions were made to the exercise to allow me to still get a workout at my level. It’s now been about five months since I started, and I look forward to it every day. I have seen great gains in my strength, stamina, speed, agility, and coordination. I am thoroughly impressed with the new routines that are created every day. I am so happy that 9Round has been a part of my health and wellness journey. The hardest part about this whole journey is the first step, but I can guarantee that once you get in here, you’ll feel like you’ve found what you have been looking for your whole life.

  • 9Round has been a blast to show up to everyday. Since joining only 2 weeks ago, I have already lost 9 pounds. The trainers are full of energy and know how to push each individual who comes through the door. Everything is moving quickly so you are never doing the same thing for more than 3 minute. They encourage you to push past your limits and they have made it fun to get into a gym again. They know exactly what my goal is and they work with me to help me achieve it every time I walk through the door.

  • Well I joined 9-round with one goal in mind, to get off the couch. I didn't really change my eating habits much except eating a salad and a yogurt here and there. I get low blood sugar very easily so a crazy diet is completely out of the question. When I first started I could only go like twice a week because I was so out of shape. After about a month of that I felt I could go every day they were open. There were sometimes I couldn't make it but I tried to be consistent about going. Trust me it was hard but I felt better after each time I went. It even helped me sleep through the night particularly if you have had a stressful day. Three months ago I used to weigh 171lb now I'm down to 156lb and it shows. I am thrilled about the weight loss because it was nothing but fat and I love how toned I am getting. I'm so not a gym junkie but as a science teacher you can't argue with data and results like that. The staff is very nice and supportive thanks you guys you got a lifer!!

  • WOW! is all I can say. For years my weight has been going up and down, but always up a little more every year. I have tried everything..I used to work out at a gym 4 times a week and my weight would not budge. I've been a member at 9Round for a little over a month & I've already lost 17#'s and 4 inches off my waist. The best thing is I just love the workout, it's fast, it's fun, it's convenient w/no class times to wait for, and most importantly, the staff completely motivates you. This kind of workout is therapeutic for the body and the soul. I'm a mom with 2 kids and work full time, and I can always fit the workout into my schedule. I cannot say enough great things about how awesome this place is and the staff giving you the confidence for you to achieve your goals. TOTALLY AWESOME EXPERIENCE! I am completely addicted to 9Round.   • 9 Round has been such a blessing to me. Exceptional people and exceptional workouts! I needed something quick and flexible that got the job done. I joined hoping to work off my last 15lbs post pregnancy. I am happy to say I am very close to that goal, in better shape than I have ever been, and fit into all of my pre-pregnancy clothes.     Cindy, owner and trainer, opened 9Round to fulfill her dream of owning a business. The 9Round concept was so appealing because of her love of the Korean self defense martial art of Hapkido in addition to her business & educational background. She is a 1st Degree Black Belt in Hapkido at Chang's Hapkido Academy & and now proud owner of 9Round Woodridge. She loves teaching basic fighting skills to new members and helping them reach their fitness goals. She's motivated by being able to meet new and interesting people every single day and change peoples lives!

    Nicole is a certified personal trainer, with youth specialist certification as well as CPR/AED. Her journey with personal training began after her third child and realized she needed to make a healthy life change for herself and her children. Within 6 months of proper diet and exercise she lost 60lbs and found that her passion was to help others with their own personal journey's to a healthier way of life. Nicole has also been a mixed martial artist for the past three years and has knowledge in boxing, kick boxing and jiu-jitsu.
