Hello I'm Rickey “Black Panther” Powell. I am an L.A. native who has a background in a multitude of sports, spanning over 20 years. From football, track, rugby, etc. I have been boxing for the last 6 years and in that time I became a member of 9Round. Soon after, I decided to join the team as a trainer where I’m very passionate about studying different styles of martial arts. I found myself eager to learn them all (yes all of them), continually adapting and analyzing them. I’m currently studying Brazilian Capoeira, Muy Thai, as well as refining my boxing and kickboxing skills. I love to challenge our 9Round members by helping them to exceed their expectations. I am a very positive 'glass half full type' of person, who always stays focused in looking towards the future to achieve my goals and those of our members. My name is Lexi but at 9Round DTLA I am The Mechanic-I was given that fighter name because I’m a Kinesiology student (graduating in the fall!). I like to help our members work on their form as well as make progressions or modifications to the daily exercises. It’s really exciting to take what I learn from school and be able to apply it in my job. I love seeing members perform an exercise they didn’t think was possible. One of my favorite sayings as a trainer is “HATE ME NOW, LOVE ME LATER”! My job is to help people reach their goals, and in order to do that I push our members outside of their comfort zone. 9Round is a great program because no matter who you are or your current fitness level, our members get a great workout every single time!
