About the team
Miranda "Boss Lady" Acevedo is the owner of 9Round Culver City and a certified ISSA fitness trainer. She is committed to providing a welcoming atmosph...ere to all athletic abilities. Whether it is your first time stepping into kickboxing gym or a seasoned athlete, she and her team will push you to your best athletic abilities. Before opening 9Round Culver City, she played collegiate soccer at Rio Hondo College as a forward, where she was MVP and the leading scorer in her sophomore season. She then transferred to Cal Poly Pomona, where she was part of the 1999 Women's Soccer Team that went onto to be the NCAA DII National Runner-Up. Miranda is originally from Whittier, California. She attended Cal Poly Pomona studying Communications and Broadcast Journalism. More
North "Butter" Smucker joined the 9Round Culver City team in January of 2020. He discovered martial arts while traveling in Thailand in 2016 where he ...spent two months training Muay Thai. Since then he has developed a passion for the sport. He is very keen on making sure members are always practicing proper form. But what he enjoys most as a trainer at 9Round Culver City is achieving a mutual flow state with members while working "buttery" mitt work combinations at all levels of experience. North is originally from Portland, Oregon where he attended Southern Oregon University. He is also pursuing screen writing and was a graphic artist and illustrator. More
Isabel "Izzy" Bennett was a former 9Round Culver City member and joined the team in February of 2021. She was first introduced to the sport in college... when she accidently walked into the wrong group fitness class. She has been practicing Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts ever since. She loves working with beginners — concentrating on form, power, and technique. Her goal is to make every workout fun, personal, and sweaty! Izzy is originally from Culver City. She attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She enjoys camping, cooking, graphic design, architecture, and snuggling with her rescue pup Max. More
Ivy "Rick Flair" Koester joined the 9Round Culver City Team in January of 2019. Ivy is an Olympic hopeful track cyclist. She has won 4 National Titles... with Velo Club LaGrange. She has been selected to represent USA Cycling and Team USA at the Junior World Championships. Throughout her career she has won 7 state titles. In 2019 she won the Raymond Fouquet Award for best all-around cyclist and Best Junior Racer in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2017. Also in 2016 she the South Bay Cycling award for Best Young Rider in 2016. Ivy is originally from El Segundo, CA. She currently attends UCLA and is studying as a Political Science major. More
Anda "Panda" Moore-Pryor joined the 9Round Culver City team in April of 2021. She started training in kickboxing in 2013 and Muay Thai in 2016. She is... currently an Amateur Muay Thai fighter at Defiant Gym. Panda is orignally from Riverside, CA. She played on the Varisty Softball team for 4 years at Colony High School in Ontario, CA. She then attended Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, FL were she received her AA degree and played on the Women's Softball team. She then transferred to Howard University in Washington DC were she received her BA degree and also played on the Women's Softball Team. More
James "Pad Daddy" Johnson joined the 9Round Culver City team in May of 2021. James developed a passion for Muay Thai after he trained in Thailand for ...2 Months. After his trip he continued his Muay Thai training and eventually became a trainer at 9Round. He played football, volleyball and was on the swim team at Junipero Serra High School. After high school played dodge ball professionally for a few years. James is originally from Los Angeles. In his free time James loves to workout, spar with his friends and enjoys a nice stack of pancakes. More

It's hard to choose just one thing because there are so many amazing things about this club. The first and foremost is the personalized attention and genuine care that Miranda and her staff provide ea... ch individual regardless of how busy they might be. I always feel attended to and as if I have my own personal trainer there to guide and encourage me! The next best thing is never having a class time to worry about and just being able to jump in basically right away. I also love the actual workouts and how they are changed up each day! The CHOWs are great motivators and help me feel really confident! I also love what a positive impact the 9round workouts have had on me mentally and physically.
