About the team
The moniker MARVELOUS derives from one of my favorite hall of fame boxers Marvelous Marvin Hagler - one of the true greats! I am not only the owner,... but a certified 9Round trainer who has been a fan of boxing for most of my life. Along with a constant desire to find new and different ways of staying in shape from the basic 'pick it up, put it down' method. In trying many different types and styles of fitness, none has spoken to me more than 9ROUND! If a person is serious, I mean really SERIOUS about their health & fitness goals, there is nothing better than a boutique gym and NONE better than 9ROUND. In the past I found myself tired of the many big box gyms that only cared about you if you got their personal trainers, otherwise you are just another (paying) number. From machines always broken, to members hogging weights, to members leaving machines covered in sweat, to holding a group convo at a popular machine, to the cliques. Or even my own issue of not always having a sense of real direction in my workout program due to inconsistency because of my work schedule. 9ROUND'S Full Body Workout Program, just WORKS! My name is Lexi but at 9Round DTLA I am The Mechanic-I was given that fighter name because I’m a Kinesiology student (graduating in the fall!). I like... to help our members work on their form as well as make progressions or modifications to the daily exercises. It’s really exciting to take what I learn from school and be able to apply it in my job. I love seeing members perform an exercise they didn’t think was possible. One of my favorite sayings as a trainer is “HATE ME NOW, LOVE ME LATER”! My job is to help people reach their goals, and in order to do that I push our members outside of their comfort zone. 9Round is a great program because no matter who you are or your current fitness level, our members get a great workout every single time! Hello, my name is Sachiko, a.k.a. SUPERSONIC and I am one of the trainers at 9Round DTLA. Originally from Japan, I grew up highly active, playing vari...ous sports throughout my schooling. I started going to the gym at an early age even though fitness and working out were not extremely popular in Japan, and had only become so until very recently. I have been passionate about fitness ever since, and it has been a big part of my life. I believe even if you are not an athlete or your job does not require any physical skills, people should still incorporate some type of physical fitness in their routine as it can literally change a person’s life. Since 2014, I have focused primarily on martial arts training including kickboxing, Wushu, Japanese sword fighting, kick training and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I also have trained with some of the best stunt professionals in TV & Film. This has given me the opportunity to utilize my martial arts background and hone my skills in the world of entertainment. I am really excited to share what I have learned with my members and help them to improve themselves and reach their goals of fitness and self-improvement.
