About the team
Keba “The Konqueror” Arnold has been athletic and a sports fan since she was a little girl. She played basketball and ran track in middle school and ...high school. As a graduate of the University of Georgia, she loves college football too! Keba became interested in kickboxing after taking Body Combat classes in Downtown Sacramento. When she moved to the East Bay in the Summer of 2015, that’s when she found 9Round in Walnut Creek and fell in love! The rest is history. CPR/AED certified, Keba believes in 9Round so much, she decided to leave her career to open up 9Round Natomas! She can’t wait to help you reach your fitness goals, one round at a time! More
Joaquin "Kid Quin" Magpantay grew up running track (Events: 200 meter, long jump, and triple jump) in Calabasas. Currently, he is studying Dietetics i...n Sacramento and has worked as an Assistant Personal Trainer/ Assistant Nutritionist in San Francisco. He fell in love with many aspects of training, specifically, Olympic Weightlifting. As he continues to learn more about the training experience, Joaquin's goal is to teach people about the importance of health and wellness. In his spare time, Joaquin enjoys spending time with his family and friends, training, and hanging out with his Schnauzer, Pepper. More
Elisa “Slade” Banuelos has always been very active. She played soccer for 3 years and attended a sports camp during several summers, and eventually be...came a junior counselor. When 9Round Natomas opened in October 2016, Elisa joined becoming a Founding Member. It was during that time she found a new love for kickboxing and physical fitness. After being a member for 18 months, she decided to apply to join the 9Round Natomas Trainer Team. Ever since, Elisa has developed a deeper passion for helping others reach their fitness goals! More
Hong "Horsey Porsey" Kang, began training in taekwondo and karate at the age of 7 and has competed in various tournaments since the age of 14. Current...ly a student at Sacramento State, Hong still enjoys practicing and improving his martial arts skills. When it comes to kicking, he is very technical and often finds himself breaking down the steps in order to launch the kick perfectly. Hong is very passionate about encouraging others and helping people push past their limits to set new goals for themselves. More
Mikey Vongthichack “Magic Mikey” started his athletic training at the age of 10 under the disciplines of Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Not long a...fter, he tried his hand in boxing and trained in the featherweight division. Shortly after attending high school, Mikey also began dancing with members from numerous crews in Northern California such as FXA, Funky fresh, Jedi Assassins, and Good Fellas. Mikey joined his first crew, FXA and won his first performance and was awarded “Best in Show” in the same year. Towards the end of 2015, Mikey enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he underwent Marine Corps training in various areas including: martial arts, firearms and tactical combat casualty care training. In 2018, Mikey served overseas in Central and South America performing humanitarian aid and disaster relief. After returning home the following year, Mikey was promoted to the rank of Corporal and continues to serve his nation in the Marine Corps Reserves. Mikey or Corporal Vongthichack now attends school and works as a 9Round Natomas Trainer where he motivates, trains, and pushes the members to their limits, shaping everyone he comes in contact with to be the best version of themselves! More
Carlos “Rocket” Rodriguez has trained in boxing for many years. Hopping around from several gyms, he has obtained great skills, techniques and workout...s to apply to anyone who either has martial arts experience or to those just beginning. Carlos has quite an athletic background, ranging from baseball, basketball and even cross-country running. He is great at training people to discover their best abilities by incorporating several exercises and drills to push you to your greatest potential. Carlos is deeply passionate in making sure people learn the basics in boxing, starting with a balanced fighter stance and how to correctly throw punches. From there, he will teach you new combinations during the trainer led drills, that make the workout much more interesting, fun and challenging. Along with staying in shape and training, Carlos is also studying coding and hopes to move into the tech field after graduation. More
Anita “XS” Souvannalath has always been an active person. Anita began to dabble in Mixed Martial Arts when she was young, from Muay Thai to Jiu Jitsu ...and wrestling in high school, to growing up and training Combatives in the Army. During her time as a Military Police officer, she served overseas in Iraq as a Machine Gunner and shortly after as a Team Leader in Korea. The Military Police Corps held high standards and expectations. As a woman in the Army, she faced many challenges both mentally and physically. Anita had to work extremely hard to overcome those obstacles and keep up with the "big boys!" After completing her military contract, she began to struggle with her weight due to prior injuries and lack of self-care. Eventually, with a little TLC she found her way back in the health and fitness world. Now she’s here, at 9Round Natomas, to give you a helping hand and guide you in the right direction in your fitness journey. She truly believes in the saying “If you believe it, you can achieve it!” More
Katie "Kator Nator" Nelan has been an avid supporter of having a good time while still prioritizing physical fitness. She has been a competitive cheer...leader from the time she was a little elementary school girl all the way through college. This equipped her with the knowledge of the perseverance and dedication it takes to achieve your goals. It’s this knowledge she now applies to her work with the 9Round community. As a former 9Round member for 2 years, her favorite part about this gym is the high energy, the supportive atmosphere, and the engaging community that is fostered by nature of the circuits, as well as the interactions between the trainers and the members. She especially loves the trainer led drill because the different combinations and patterns remind her of her years learning the intricacies of cheer routines. Most of all, Katie loves to be able to deliver a great workout, while also making sure that every workout is balanced between being challenging and being fun, because what is a workout if you're not enjoying it?! Katie brings her boisterous personality and bubbly enthusiasm to help impart her love of working out to the members and create a fun and high-energy workout environment for people of all levels! More

I thoroughly enjoy 9round. I love the flexible time format and that you can get in and out within 30 minutes or close. Also, that you can do more than 9 rounds if you like.
