Favorite Part of Training
Everything is built around the kickboxing frame, so every round has purpose & pushes you to move, think, & engage. That is why I love coaching here.
I grew up training in martial arts and gymnastics, which built a strong foundation in movement, discipline, and body awareness. Later on, family health issues led me down the path of adaptive fitness, learning how to modify movements rather than relying on generalized programming. I still train and compete in martial arts, but my real focus is meeting people exactly where they are, whatever that looks like for them.
Favorite Round: Round 1, Jump Rope. People underestimate it, but it is pure footwork, timing, and coordination, and it sets the tone for the whole workout.
Favorite Punch: The jab, specifically doubling it up. It is simple, but it does real work, setting range, breaking rhythm, and setting up everything else. I would rather see a clean jab than a flashy punch with no foundation behind it.
Fun Fact: I foster tarantulas and other arachnids, including vinegaroons and tailless whip scorpions. It throws most people off, but it turns out patience is patience whether I am working with a nervous beginner or nursing a spider that does not want to be handled.
