About the team
I started off at 9Round as the intern for Spring 2020 and fell in love instantly! Coming from the Valley I really had no idea what San Antonio had in ...store for me but after I graduated from UTSA with a BS in Kinesiology, I found a family within 9round. The engagement I get with the members is by far my favorite part along with seeing them achieve their goals. Thanks to the amazing members I’ve come to know and the team I’ve worked with, I truly have found that coaching/personal training is what I am meant to do. Thank you 9Round fam and I can’t wait to help more individuals on their next fitness journey! More
Hello!! I joined 9Round after having been a member in Austin upon moving to San Antonio. 9Round became my save and grace and has afforded me the chanc...e to work on my physical health alongside some incredible members and an amazing team! I love that I'm improving my strength every day and that I am never bored with my workouts. I love that I get to see progress in my members and are able to celebrate the milestones they achieve by coming into the gym every week. For fun, I play on an intramural volleyball team and love to go hiking! My goal is to continue improving myself to help be a better trainer for all of my members! 9RoundStrong More
Hey everyone! I began my 9Round adventure back in 2015 while in college in Missouri. I went for a first time workout with a friend that was a member a...nd fell in love with the workout, environment and team members. I decided that I wanted to be apart of the amazing team and wanted to help and change lives in a unique way. After college I moved to San Antonio and found a 9Round and wanted to be apart of that amazing team once again and making a positive difference for people. I’m grateful to be apart of a this very supportive team and grateful to be a motivation. My favorite thing to hear is clients coming into the gym raving about the positive changes they see happening and it keeps us motivated as trainers that we are making a difference. I’m Mariah “MimiSan” Fulco. Currently serving in the United States Navy. I’m also in college majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. ...I started off with 9Round as a client in June of 2019. What interested me in joining was the convenience of 9Round. I absolutely HATE spending hours in the gym, and after taking a look at 9Round, I realized you can reach your goals in less time than an average show episode! In February of 2020, I decided to step it up and not only workout here, but work as a trainer here. It’s my way of giving back. The trainers that helped conditioned my body, gave me the passion to want to give back and do the same for others. My favorite thing about being a trainer is being able to be the support system for so many people. Helping them reach their goals and push them just a step further every time. For many people, 9Round is a safe haven, and I love being part of this wonderful community. We’re a family here, and that’s what makes it amazing. We accept everyone with open arms! More
Welcome to 9Round! My name is Clarissa “Sensei” and I am all about energy and enthusiasm! I’ve been with 9Round going on 4 years and I absolutely love... it! Meeting new people and helping them crush goals is what it’s about! It’s been an honor and privilege working side by side with some amazing and passionate trainers. The martial arts has been apart of my life since I was 6 and always will be. Getting to share some of that knowledge with everyone and being able to tie in fitness into it makes 9Round so FUN and effective! We are here to have a kickin time! After I graduated in May 2020, I was looking for a job that was related to my field of study. I have a Kinesiology degree with a concentration in Exer...cise Physiology and minor in Wellness. Due to COVID, I wasn’t having any luck being hired. Then, I found 9Round on Indeed and decided to apply because I noticed that the job summary mentioned “family oriented” and that caught my eye. I also know that kickboxing is a great high intensity workout that is fantastic for cardiovascular health. At that point, I knew this was the job I wanted. I’ve been at 9Round for about 2 months. What I love the most about 9Round is the members! The members are such hard workers and are so dedicated. I love being able to push members to reach their goals. I love being active and spending time outside. I love spending time with my family and my pets. I plan on going to graduate school in the near future to further my knowledge in Exercise Physiology. My ultimate career goal is to be a Cardiac Rehabilitation Specialist. However, being a 9Round trainer is where I want to be at this time. I love my fellow trainers, my bosses, and all the members I get to work with everyday. This has been one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve had. Thank you for welcoming me into your 9Round family. More

I got involved with 9Round through a job opening that I heard from the Master Trainer herself, Clarissa “Sensei” Villenueva! I love Martial Arts and m...ost importantly, I enjoy to work with individuals of all ages! I’ve been a 9Round trainer for more than a year now and I’m only growing to offer you all an amazing “Killer” workout! I want to provide members with a fun workout using the experience I have as a 3rd degree blackbelt in Taekwondo and a brown 1/2 belt in Kickboxing! I am currently in my undergraduate studies majoring in Kinesiology in hopes of one day becoming a Physical Therapist! I’ve always had a passion for health and fitness and found myself looking for a way to make an impact on the lives of those in my community. That’s when a friend of mine and veteran trainer, Lexi, introduced me to 9round. Since then, I have fallen in love with kickboxing and martial arts as a whole. I love everything about training, but my favorite part is watching those around me meet their goals and then crush their expectations. My name is Sarah, I am 29 years old and married to my husband of seven years. We are a (growing) military family originally from Southern California. ...I fell in love with exercise when I lived in Washington State 7 years ago. I struggled with low self-esteem, anxiety, and depression since I was a child so I started taking my dog running through the woods every day. It became a therapy for me and from then on I continued trying different types of exercises and ended up starting kickboxing when I moved to San Antonio, Texas. By far, kickboxing has been my favorite form of exercise! The mental and physical discipline that's focused around kickboxing became my escape and my outlet. I am a certified personal trainer through NASM and specialize in corrective exercise. I strive to expand my knowledge and skills of martial arts and plan to start Ju Jitsu in the near future! I believe that exercise is a reflection of life in that there are times where we feel like the challenges we face are too difficult for us to handle, but if we persevere there is something waiting for us that's worth all the hardships we faced along the way. Most importantly, I have faith in Jesus Christ and know that whatever comes my way in life, God is on my side and that He's on yours too! More
Hey everyone! My name is Jess and my journey with 9Round started in 2018 as a member in Katy, Texas! After playing sports all my life, I needed a plac...e to continue my fitness after I graduated high school and 9Round was the perfect place for me! My mom had been a member since 2016 so it became something we bonded over and enjoyed doing together! I became a trainer at 9Round San Antonio in January of 2020, while going to UTSA and studying biomedical engineering with a concentration in biomechanics. My goal is to eventually study and work with prosthetics + injury prevention training. I am passionate about helping others and I love being a 9Round trainer because we take pride in getting to know our members personally and we are there for our members through every step of their fitness journey! 9Round is the perfect home for people of all ages and walks of life. I used to do martial arts. I miss the bag work. My goodness, 9Round has has such a variety of bags. One of my favorite parts of the workout is the trainer-led round with the hand pads. But my favorit... e thing about 9Round is the small size of the studio, with trainers there to make sure we are doing each round correctly to prevent injury and to get the most out of the exercises. They keep me motivated and make the workout fun. At the end of 30 minutes there is no doubt that I have gotten a hard, full-body workout!! I highly recommend 9Round.
